VC Investment Analyst - Healthtech

Capricorn Partners - an independent manager of venture capital funds - is expanding its Health investment team in Leuven (Belgium).

You will help to source & build a successful portfolio of companies recognized for their excellent team, technology, scalable commercial potential, international ambitions and intrinsic capacity for superior financial return.

Your prime focus will be to manage the dealflow and support the investment managers of the digital health & medtech investments of the Capricorn Healthtech Fund II.

Job description

• Sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities

• Support Due Diligence of investment opportunities

• Support the management of portfolio companies

• Continuously engage with a network of entrepreneurs, co-investors and other relevant parties to build relationships

• Represent Capricorn partners in the start-up ecosystem by attending conferences, giving presentations, and more.

Core qualifications and requirements

• Preferred degrees in Medical Sciences, Healthcare, Bioengineering, Engineering or a related field.

• Background as a Medical Doctor is a plus.

• 0-3 years of experience (including internships) in an investment function at a venture capital fund, incubator, family office or other financial institution or relevant professional experience within our target investment areas is a plus.

• Enthusiastic and curious about innovative technologies, new markets and entrepreneurship, with a positive attitude. An entrepreneurial experience in your career is a plus.

• Fluency in English is a must; fluency in an additional European language is a plus. Preferably fluent in Dutch as well.

• Enjoys working in a team and interacting with professionals from all levels and functions. Consensus-driven personality with proven leadership skills.

• Pro-active, entrepreneurial, result-oriented and with excellent networking, negotiating and communication skills (verbal and written).

• Ability to operate confidentially, be aware of any sensitivities around a potential transaction, and maintain the highest ethical and ESG standards.
